Printer driver was not installed. Operation could not be completed

When i try to install a lexmark optra r+ printer a
receive the above message and i can't install the printer
The relevant article says that i tried with windows 95 or
me drivers, by how can i remove the old drivers?
What other probably happens?
Note that i transfer all the settings for the
installation of windows xp from a windows 2000 advanced
server installation
Also the first time i tried to install the lexmark
drivers a get a message for incombatibility of the
drivers.
Now i can't install any printer and a network too.

Win95 and ME drivers won't have installed on the XP.

Go to the Lexmark website at http://tinyurl.com/14ca and download the
correct drivers. The instructions for installation are also on this page.
