Setting a default printer in a networked environment
The windows technet scripting center has a script for setting default printer by user logon. I have not used this particular script so I do not know how well it works, but I have used many others to install printers and create ports or change drivers via that work very well. You may want to try this. Maybe you can create a script and apply it depending on whether you change default printers by group or by individual? The script is he http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp? url=/technet/scriptcenter/printing/ScrPrn44.asp -----Original Message----- I cannot find any advise about how to set a default printer for multiple users on Windows XP. All of my printers are installed and I have followed the directions from article #307016 on how to set up printers for all users. However the default settings do not follow each user, as the article implies. All of the printers are networked and accessable by all users. Any suggestions would be most appreciated! . |
