Default Lemark 1000 printer not installing

I found a download from Lexmark: CJ201100SE.EXE (this is
a device driver to print from XP for my CJ printer), but
when I try to extract it the Add Printer Wizard tells me
its not compatable for Windows XP. Is my printer
compatable for windows XP, and if so how and where from
do I install the correct printer update driver

Check with Lexmark as to the method of installing XP drivers. You can also
try---remove any previously installed software( driver). Remove the printer
via device manager. Reboot and XP should find the printer and install it. It
may also find the driver. If necessary point it to the folder containing the
downloaded XP driver
