High quality video encoding
I'm a video cameraman and on a regular basis need to send short clips of promotional video to an agency overseas. Sometimes a few seconds of the video is broadcast on TV. Currently I courier the footage by tape but would like to see whether it's possible t
o FTP it to the agency's web server. However, I'm worried that if I download the footage onto my PC and encode it with Windows Movie Maker using XP Home edition, the technical quality of the encoded video is not of a high-enough standard. This is because I believe Movie Maker only allows the user to encode the video at a relatively low bit rate. From what I understand, I need to encode at 4Mbps minimum. Is this possible please with Windows Media technology and, if so, where can I find the necessary software? |

High quality video encoding
you could save it as dv/avi file type. 30.0Mb/s using windows movie maker 2.
The rest of the encoding either use a variable byte rate or lower than 4MB/sec |

High quality video encoding
Chris,
See the Saving Movies Custom WMV Profile page of my website. I made a custom profile last week that aligns with the new WMV/High Definition video files. The size I used is 1280x720 pixels and the video bitrate is 6Mbps. I have a link to let you download the profile and try it out... I made the profile to align with the new Coral Reef Adventure 2-disc set.... one a standard DVD and the other with High Definition WMV files, which have 6 times the resolution of the standard DVD.
