How do I make 'details' the default instead of 'icons' when I open windows?

Open an Explorer window (My Computer for ex.) and set it to look the way
you want. From the ToolsFolder OptionsView tab, click on the button
that says to apply to all windows. You'll get a dialog box that says new
windows will open looking like this one.
