I solved the problem by updating HP CUE ... and other core HP components using
"HP Photosmart Wireless All-in-One Printer - B109n" drivers

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/p...roduct=3794625

I've selected "Full Feature" 133.51 MB download that includes latest version
of HP Solution Center 13.0.1

During installation unselect unnecessary packages ...

Also when setup asks you for model of device, select USB and then "will connect it later" ...

HTH, Roman

P.S. BTW, i've tested this solution on three XP.SP3 and one VISTA.SP2 computers. For example,
after installing new HP software, Vista boot time was almost two minutes shorter. So, after all,
Vista is not that bad ...

Hmm, maybe my solution will not work for you. IIRC the bug that I encountered was
described as "HP CUE Discovery ..."

I was refering to Steve mentioned in wboolvic post above dated Sept
2008.

They make reference to adding a registry line but it seems incomplete.
I was looking for detail on the key and the value that should be added
as well as location within the registry.

Thanks,

Hector....
