Default Frontpage 2000 Client - Hungapp Issue

I am running Frontpage 2000 client on my Windows XP Home Edition PC.
Interestingly enough, my Frontpage 2000 has exhibited the hungapp error
since I downloaded and installed Service Pack 2 onto my PC a few months ago.

After I ran Frontpage XP and tried to open a .htm web page, I received
the following error signature and associated technical information (which I
copied from the Microsoft problem reporting agent window):

========= Start of Error Signature ============

szAppName: FRONTPG.EXE szAppver: 4.0.2.3821 SzModName:hungapp

SzModVer: 0.0.0.0 offset:00000000

========== End of Error Signature ==========

========= Start of Technical Information (about errror) ==========

C:\DOCUME~1\default\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER3f59.dir00\FR ONTPG.EXE.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\default\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER3f59.dir00\ap pcompat.txt

========= End of Technical Information (about error) ============

Also, I closed Frontpage 2000, downloaded installed and ran Microsoft's
malware detection software. But no malware was detected.
And no, my Norton Antivius shows my PC to be virus and trojan free.

How can I fix my Frongpage application hainging issue?
