Problrm with xp sp3

I was having trouble with xp professional sp3 with some of my programs and
running one of my printers(Epson 220 the cd printer). I decided to remove
sp3 and reinstalled the programs that were not working properly. My question
is this. When I run spybot I get the message that there are 366 temp files
and do I want them removed. When I click yes I get the message "there are
366 files that are in use and cannot be removed. I noticed that when I
removed sp3 they said they were putting some in temp files. Should I try to
remove the temp files manually or just leave things be. Since everything is
working fine I am, for the time being not doing anything. I wouldn't know
how to remove them anyway. Any ideas?
