Default Want to delete the Administrator pop up page

My neighbor just got her first PC, running Windows XP.3. The person who got
it running for her set it up so that when the PC is idle for ten minutes or
so, a screen comes up that has a box in the center, saying Administrator and
sometimes also the number of messages there are. At the bottom left of the
screen is a line that says Turn Barbara Off. If she clicks on the Turn
Barbara Off, then the PC wants to shut down. Since she is the only person
who uses this machine, she wants to get rid of that page and have the screen
image stay where she left it.. But how? I've looked all over but can't
figure out how to accomplish this. I had XP for years and never had this
screen show up.
Your advice is appreciated.
Kathy

You mean the screensaver kicks in and it returns to the Welcome screen.

Just modify the screensaver, uncheck the box about, "On resume..."

Tell your neighbor to check the following.

Control Panel - Display - Screen Saver tab - Uncheck "On resume, ... -
Click OK.

Control Panel - Power Options - Advanced tab - Uncheck "Prompt for
password when computer resumes from standby" - Click OK.

On a side note, it sounds as if the person who set up this computer has your
neighbor using the built-in Administrator account. That's not a really good
idea. Your neighbor would be better off creating a new account for herself
and using it instead of the Administrator account. She can create a new
account in Control Panel - User Accounts.

Good luck
