antivirus pro 2009
I need serious help
I recieved a message a few days ago " my computer is infected" I believe it is the antivirus pro 2009. I have installed the windows one care live trial and scanned and removed everything, so I thought and my internet explorer is hijacked. Can someone please give me some advice on how I could correct this. I don't exactly have the means to pay anyone at this time so any advice would be great. Thank You -- jp

I have already tried to use these sites that you are recomending, however I
am redirected to other adresses instead of the ones that I've initially typed. You need to get your tools, updates, and/or guided help from a different, known-clean computer. The infected machine should *not* be on the Internet or your Local Area Network in any case. If you can't do this, then either take the machine to a shop or back up your data and do a clean install. There really is no magic silver button you can push to make it all better instantly. I just cleaned up a computer that was infected with this type of malware that
included a rootkit. The different up-to-date anti-malware detectors I was using didn't even find half of what I found manually. I had to boot off an XP installer disc and use DOS commands to find and delete the hidden rootkit files. I also had to fix the registry and copy back clean system files that the rootkit modified. This type of work is not easy and you really need to know what your are doing. Performing a clean install may be the only fix. If you do a clean install, see if you can backup your data so you copy it back after the clean install. Maybe you can boot into "Safe mode with Networking" to access some of those malware cleaners.
