O.T. Mysterious phone calls
I have an AT&T GoFone.
I have been getting phone calls from a number that is not listed. The calls are only 1 cent, but it is still disturbing. Any ideas as to how to stop them ? Thanks, Andy |

O.T. Mysterious phone calls
Per Mark Twain:
You might try this: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/article...-call-registry Based on my experience, I would say not to waste the time. Years ago, in the early DNC days, the lists worked because violators were prosecuted. Today, the stack of lame-sounding letters I have from the Pennsylvania DA's office suggest that violations are no longer prosecuted. The letters cite things like solicitors moving offshore and the use of "Multiple relay VOIP" (whatever that is....) as reasons whey they can't do anything. If the phone is an Android smart phone, I would suggest an app called "CallControl". It's been working for me for several years. My junk calls have dropped to maybe a half-dozen per year. It crowd sources the IDs of junk callers. -- Pete Cresswell |

GoPhones don't allow that. Of course they could just as easily as AT&T's other phones, but I guess they want us to feel like 2nd class customers. |

They claimed I was hitting some button that was incurring data charges. Which is not true. They did give me a year on my minutes instead of the usual 90 days. :-) I had them totally disable any Internet activity. Andy |
