Printer problem

I have a Lexmark 83 printer that I have been using with
XP. It was a problem at first to get it to work after I
upgraded to XP and I needed help to get it started.
Recently I downloaded some programs and also uninstalled
some I did not want. Now my printer is again not working
and I am wondering if it is because of that activity that
it is not working. Can you help?
