Default Webcam overwrites registry???

Hi all;
i just purchased a logitech webcam(quickcam messenger)
every time I install the software, even though cam works
great, my cable internet connection seems to be lost, it
does not matter how many times i restart, i am unable to
renew the IP address. I had to do 3 system restores in 3
hours. Does anybody know what to do with it? I also tried
to install the software with minimum requirements but
still the same results. Thank you very much for any help
in advance.
