Failure Audits Help
My computer locks-up and restarts alot. Upon reboot I go to System Viewer and it says Failure Audit. Here is the message:
Event Type: Failure Audit Event Source: Security Event Category: Policy Change Event ID: 615 Date: 6/13/2004 Time: 3:19:51 PM User: NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE Computer: JOEY Description: IPSec Services: IPSec Services failed to get the complete list of network interfaces on the machine. This can be a potential security hazard to the machine since some of the network interfaces may not get the protection as desired by the applied IPSec filters. Please run IPSec monitor snap-in to further diagnose the problem. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. Can you please help with how to fix this? Thanks in Advance!! |

Failure Audits Help
I'm not an expert, but I do get this audit failure message from time to
time, and I noticed nobody else responded yet. It never locks up my machine though, and I don't suffer from viruses/worms/Trojans, so I don't think this failure is the cause of your PC restarting a lot. Realize that I'm no expert, but I'm guessing your PC locks up and restarts for some other reason, like maybe a virus/worm/spyware problem, or maybe hardware problems. I do suffer from occasional crashes, which my event viewer says is a controller problem on my D: disk. Do you have any error messages in your System audit ? What anti-virus and anti-spyware programs do you run ? "Joey Register" Joey wrote in message ... My computer locks-up and restarts alot. Upon reboot I go to System Viewer and it says Failure Audit. Failure Audits Help
I have been having alot of problems lately. I had 15 trojans/viruses but fixed them all, reformatted harddrive then all the these problems started. The problems are alot of STOP errors, I'm sure they are problems with the Graphics card. But, I got a recent
STOP error that the problem was win32k.sys. What is this file for? I have XP home,128MB RAM,60GB HARRDRIVE,GeForce 4 TI4200 video card with Forceware 56.72 drivers installed. Failure Audits Help
Sorry I'm not an expert on what causes Stop errors, but it smells like
hardware or driver problems. Did you download the latest graphics card drivers from the manufacturer of your GeForce card ? If you cannot get them from the manufacturer of the graphics card, you might try downloading the latest drivers from nVidia, who makes the GeForce4 chip set. If you have the latest drivers, and the problem still continues, it might be a hardware problem, but I don't know how to test hardware problems, other than put the graphics card into a different PC in order to see if a different PC suffers from the same Stop errors. This would not solve the hardware problem, but it would tell you whether the problem is the graphics card or the motherboard. Sorry I cannot offer any more help than this. Failure Audits Help
Although I get the same error message from time to time, it never causes a
blue screen (BSOD) error. If you tried a different graphics card and you're still getting BSOD errors, it might be a motherboard or BIOS problem. That would be my guess, but I'm no expert. Just somebody trying to help. You might also try reposting this problem to a different newsgroup. The reason you're not getting any other help here might be because this newsgroup is dedicated to security related problems/issues (e.g. viruses, worms, Trojans, program bugs (vulnerabilities in MS speak), patches (security updates in MS speak), security settings, security configurations, security utilities, etc., but not motherboard problems, or graphics card problems.)
