Default Desktop Troubles

Hi, someone please help me! My desktop is broken!! Theres
a menu on the left side of my desktop (common task menu I
think you call it, like the ones you have on the left
side of folders) and also, my quicklaunch menu is locked
(meaning I can't drag things into it and I also can't
drag things into my recycle bin!)

I've done nothing to do this! I just logged onto my user
account and there it was! What have I done? And how can I
return things to normal?

Thanks!

Hi, read the instructions carefully on how to use the file for removing the
common task pane from the desktop

Tweaks and Fixes

With regard to the other matter, right click on the taskbar and check to see if
you have locked the taskbar. If you have - uncheck lock the task bar.

Not sure about the recycle bin?
