windows movie maker codecs
I am trying to find where to download codes for the WMM. I have AVI files
that I have captured with my DV camera that creates AVI files but None of my DVD creation programs including WMM likes the format. I CAN play them on Windows Media Player, but WMM complains that I don't hav proper codes. |

Probably DIVX or XVID (www.divx.com and ww.xvid.com)
The best way to edit movies that a digital camera (as opposed to a digital camcorder) is to use a card reader.... copy the files to the hard drive and then import them from the hard drive to Windows Movie Maker. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging "Don Glover" corwyn at kolvir dot com wrote in message ... Thanks. Good advice, but I did figure out what was going on. It turns out that nero burning rom had installed a codec that allowed the videos to be viewed but none of the DVD disc creators I have could use it. I uninstalled nero and found a third party MPEG 4 codec and now everything is happy again. Are you at liberty to say what third party MPEG 4 codec you found? Also,
what do you use for MPEG 2 files? Thanks! -- Arthur "Don Glover" wrote: Thanks. Good advice, but I did figure out what was going on.
