I have exactly the same problem... i checked the "report technical
information" and it says the files invovled in the problem are
"C:\DOCUME~1\MIKKO~1.DIT\LOKALA~1\Temp\WER12fd.dir 00\msnmsgr.exe.mdmp

and

C:\DOCUME~1\MIKKO~1.DIT\LOKALA~1\Temp\WER12fd.dir0 0\appcompat.txt"

im using a swedish version of windows XP, in english that would be like
C:/documents and settings/username/Local settings/Temp

i tried erasing those files, and also cleared out my whole temp folder, but
the problem still occurs. i even tried clearing my SSL-cache, but still
doesnt help

does anyone know how to solve this problem please?

hello mate ,

this is a very anoying problem, trust me i have had it over 2 weeks now , i
have tried everything suggested but nothing worked!
i wrote to Microsoft and it took them 5days to get back to me and whatever
they suggested didnt work!
they are busy counting the money consumers give them when they buy these
softwares!!!!!!!

what a shame?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i even risked all ma precious work and did a system restore , then
re-downloaded 7.5MSN again , it worked for a few minutes and then froze again
!!!

am afraid this support group may not be able to help but if u ever find the
solution pliz let me know!

WITHDRAWN.

I'm having the same problem as well... =(

New computer,
Windows XP Pro SP2, all updates loaded
MSN Mesenger 7.5 (latest release)

and yet it still won't work. It opens up, connects, but doesn't open the
contact list. Have tried everything I could find.
Deleting MSN, cleaning registry, re-installing... nothing
