But some DVD authoring software (Ulead DVD Workshop2 for an example) can
copyprotect your DVD for you. I haven't ever tested it to see how effective it is but it does have the ability. -- -Wojo MVP - Windows Digital Media Wojo's Web: www.wojos-web.co.nr "Dee" wrote in message ... Can the WMM be set to prevent someone from copying a DVD movie I have made? -- Dee |

Wojo,
WS2 doesn't on it's own!!!! You can output to DLT - if you have the facility - and if you buy the marcrovision license or software (Not sure as I've never done it) you can then copy protect your dvds, but the cost of this is so prohibitive it is easier/cheaper to get someone to do it for you at a replication house or to just give the buyer an extra copy or two!!!!!!!!!! -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.co.uk www.dvds2treasure.com www.simplydv.com "Wojo" wojos_web[REMOVE]@verizon.[REMOVE]net wrote in message news:CITAg.71$Qu4.30@trnddc04... Calm down Graham
I could have sworn I remembered seeing a copy protect option in the settings for WS2. I haven't reinstalled since removing Vista from my main machine so I can't look but I believe you. I have to look through some of my stuff to see what program I saw that option in because I know I saw it someplace. -Wojo "Graham Hughes" wrote in message ... Wojo, WS2 doesn't on it's own!!!! Sorry, wasn't alarmed in anyway....
WS2 does have a button to selct for copy protection, with macrovision. It doesn't allow you to add macrovision, but sets flags that the replication house can use. It needs to go out on DLT and I found this........ which isn't really going to help your aerage Joe in copy protection, you could give away a million extra copies to counteract teh fees :-) Graham, still smiliing The licensor of CSS encryption technology is DVD CCA (Copy Control Association), a non-profit trade association with offices at 225 B Cochrane Circle, Morgan Hill, CA. There is a $15,000 annual licensing fee, but no per-product royalties. Send license requests to , technical info requests to . Before December 15, 1999, CSS licensing was administered on an interim basis by Matsu****a. Macrovision licenses its analog anti-recording technology to hardware makers. There is a $30,000 initial charge, with a $15,000 yearly renewal fee. The fees support certification of players to ensure widest compatibility with televisions. There are no royalty charges for player manufacturers. Macrovision charges a royalty to content publishers (approximately 4 to 10 cents per disc, compared to 2 to 5 cents for a VHS tape). -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.co.uk www.dvds2treasure.com www.simplydv.com "Wojo" wojos_web[REMOVE]@verizon.[REMOVE]net wrote in message news:XZtBg.5519$qw5.3166@trnddc06...
