Default Can't read DVD

I have a Samsung CDRW/DVD SN-324F that can play a CD and a data disk but not
a DVD movie. I have InterVideo WinDVD 4 and Inter Actual player software
but neither can read it. Neither can Windows Media Player. When I hit play
nothing happens. If I hit eject, it will eject the disk, so there seems to
be some communication between the software and the device.

At one time this worked fine, but then one day it didn't.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot?

Try one of the CD/DVD cleaning disks from Best Buy, et. al.,
if that doesn't do it, replace the drive.

They're all very cheesy these days and don't last long.
