Default DVCR

I have Creatives Digital vcr and I have recorded analog tapes with it .It
supposedly has a a stand alone converter but I mhave never been able to
import those converted files any where else .I would like to import them into
MPG stream clip or anywhere is this possible

I am unfamiliar with this hardware (or software)..... in what format does it
save the file you create? What third party video editing application(s) do
you have installed on your PC?
