windows 98 installation issue
How new is the notebook? Maybe 98 is having a problem with the hardware. If the notebook came with
XP I would put it back the way it was and use Virtual PC from Microsoft its free and you can put many different OS's on it. -- Dave Vair CNE, CNA, MCP, A+, N+ "Steven Wabik" wrote in message ... i am doing a dual boot of 98se and xp. i reimaged my evo laptop. i started the install of 98. for some reason the installation has froze at preparing to install 98. its at 100% of that part but it is not moving on to collecting user info. what should i do? |

windows 98 installation issue
the notebook is almost 7 years old. it is still a windows xp notebook
though. i fixed the error. i just had to crash the install and reformat the disk from another pc. the 98se installation formated it wrong. the partition paramiters were wrong, which caused the install to freeze. reformating the disk with another pc fixed the issue. i got everything working the way i want it to be working now.
