Default slow shutdown

I'm going through that right now. I just build a brand new computer with Windows XP. The installation went without a hitch, and the computer would boot up quickly and shutdown pretty fast. But, two days ago, I noticed that my computer wouldn't shutdown
as quickly as it used to, in fact, it would hang at the saving settings screen for a while, almost 30-40 sec (aprox.) before shutting down. I have been searching for a solution and will try some methods out. If anything works, Ill post it here. Good luc
