Application log not being written to
The Application log in Event Viewer of Computer Management has had =
nothing written to it since 5:22 AM 8/11/04. I am running XP pro SP2 = (slipstreamed) on a PIII 933 with 512 RAM. This is the last entry in the log: Event Type: Warning Event Source: WinMgmt Event Category: None Event ID: 5603 Date: 8/11/2004 Time: 5:22:22 AM User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Computer: OFS1 Description: A provider, OffProv11, has been registered in the WMI namespace, = Root\MSAPPS11, but did not specify the HostingModel property. This = provider will be run using the LocalSystem account. This account is = privileged and the provider may cause a security violation if it does = not correctly impersonate user requests. Ensure that provider has been = reviewed for security behavior and update the HostingModel property of = the provider registration to an account with the least privileges = possible for the required functionality. The closest entry in the System log is: Event Type: Information Event Source: Service Control Manager Event Category: None Event ID: 7035 Date: 8/11/2004 Time: 5:22:54 AM User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Computer: OFS1 Description: The Office Source Engine service was successfully sent a start control. I got it fixed, took some searching but finally got it.
