Default network settings lost when client is off for extended period

I have a host PC desktop (XP Home SP2) using a wireless cellular aircard
networked to a client MAC G4 via ethernet cable. Everything works fine:
Internet connection and file sharing. However, when turn the MAC off for an
extended period of time (week or two). When i turn it back on, I have to
re-create the network connection using the Windows Network Wizard.
I am sure this is likely a trivial problem but can anyone tell me why i lose
the network connection and if i can fix it so the connection is active
without having to run the wizard after an extended shut-down?

thx
dave

The DHCP service on the XP desktop is not "auto" re-assigning an IP to
the MAC computer. Either make sure that the MAC is correctly set up
for DHCP address assigning or set up permanent IP address for this MAC.

Hi
Try to set the Network card that goes to the MAC with a Static IP
(192.168.0.10).
Jack (MS, MVP-Networking).
