Default XP won't re-boot

Have XP pro. Every time use non-MS product I get 15
Windows registry Activex/com errors (same errors each
time), use Nortons WinDoctor. If left to accumulate then
System will not re-boot XP and I have to re-install.
Bought OEM vers. Sounds similar to Dan H probs, but I
think unlikely to be a virus as had probs before Internet
connected (but game loaded)and same register address
being quoted each time. Would appreciate any thoughts.....
