I see four posts from Ken. It's up to you to find them. He doesn't have to prove a damn thing. +1 But in this case, 4 +1 != 5 :-) I am starting to wonder why Caver1 has so many problems that no one else seems to have... "Sounds" like the same person in here a month or so ago. All sorts of weird problems and acts smart. I am no genius and can only throw ideas out. KenW I have never been here before as we (my wife and I) stopped at XP. I never even saw 7 or 8 let alone use them. So I had no reason to come here until my wife got a new laptop with 8.1. Yes one is a weird problem that is why I am here. And at Microsoft.com. The other wasn't weird just needed help on how to get past it by how to make my Admin account one with elevated privileges. Two problems, one minor and the other weird and maybe major but not really, is so many? Everything that I stated could be done on the second weird problem that everyone here said that either I couldn't or shouldn't do. I proved by two links to Microsoft.com that you were all wrong and you still will not believe it. Who knows more about Windows all of you here or Microsoft? Why wont you believe Microsoft? IE10 was included in Windows 8.0 IE11 was included in Windows 8.1 IE11 has already been released for Windows 7 (6 months ago i.e. last year) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=40902 And this proves me wrong about disabling IE, how? Microsoft said they were going to force IE11 on 7.As they want every user to use IE11, because of better performance and security. They just didn't say when. 8.1 is just an updated and improved 8. As I am to believe 8 to have been bad, from what others have said as I have never even seen 8. Or 7 for that matter. -- Caver1 |

alt.comp.os.windows-8: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...t-Explorer-off Lol...Titles can be misleading....try clicking on the links that tell you what to do. None of them say anything about IE (just generic information on setting program defaults or turning off a few Windows features). If the title is misleading, then Microsoft is being intentionally misleading or deceitful. I understand that you're a shill for Microsoft, but even you must admit that the title of the article, "How to turn Internet Explorer off" and its accompanying verbiage leaves no room for any other interpretation. Are you saying that Internet Explorer is *NOT* one of the features that can be disabled from the 'enable Windows features' dialog? I don't have a Windows 7 or 8 box available to check now. It is listed there in XP. |

It is listed there in XP. The title is misleading. If it said how to turn off features that use Internet Explorer 11 then it would be more accurate. The first article definitely tells you that you can and what will be done if you do disable IE. And says nothing about features of IE. Any ways you said in your post " That link only provides details on turning off Printing and Document Services" Whic one is it? printing and Documents or IE features? Better learn how to remember what lie you told to whom. XP is no longer relevant. If it only talks about "IE features/Printing and Documents" why do you bring up XP? It states that that option has been around since XP not the relevancy of XP now. In other words since XP was available you and ones like you have been lying to everybody. IE is an integral component of Windows, it can't be turned off or disabled only features that use it. Good luck finding all of them. Lies again. Microsoft says you can. So who's the lier, YOU or Microsoft? I disable IE add Windows works just fine with it disabled. Since you've chosen to take a non-professional route I'll clue you in on your misunderstanding but beyond that don't expect anything else. What's professional about lying? When some people here still refuse to it and basically say that Microsoft is a lier by lying by saying things about what was in articles, by Microsoft, that weren't there. Where have I refused Help? Show me. I showed up winston to be a lier where he was one and that he was disseminating false information. Which was to all readers of this thread. Who was correct? Microsoft or winston. How does that make me a troll? Point it out to me.
