Default Monitor Won't Turn On

When I boot up my computer, the monitor display will not come on. The
monitor's power indicator led flickers amber. When I do get it on after
rebooting repeatedly, the monitor will go into power save after sitting
awhile, and I won't be able to get the display to come back on. The power
led again will be flickering amber. Please help.

I'm running a Dell 8200 with Windows XP Home. Thanks.

If it is not your video card or the video cable, it is time for a new
monitor.

Any way of telling which, seeing as I don't have a spare for either? Thanks.

Bobby

Take you monitor to a computer store and get it checked out.. if it works
for them, you have a problem with something in your box..
