Reggie:

I'm not sure if I completely understand your question, but could PRIMO PDF
(http://www.primopdf.com/) be the answer?

That depends entirely on what scanner software you use.

To the first question, a qualified yes. It depends on the conversion
software that is supplied with the scanner.

To the second question, why not just convert the *.doc file directly
into a *.pdf file electronically, without scanning? It can be done using
Adobe Acrobat or one the few shareware/freeware conversion applications.

And Word 2007 can create the pdf file from a doc file directly,
without any additional software.

That depends on what software came bundled with your scanner. Go read
its manual.

Or is there ant easy way to turn a
scanned doc. into pdf?

Use a PDF printer driver. Any application that lets you print can use
the PDF printer to convert the print output to a .pdf file.

I use PDFCreator (at sourceforge.net).

Johnn,

Sorry I thought the subject title explained. The only scanner software I
have is the built in windows scanner & software which does not offer pdf as a
scan format.
