Try it and see It is a question of me finding out before I buy a new PC so that I will know whether or not to have Word 2007 installed as I do not use Word much and 2000 will suffice for my needs if it is acceptable. I have just asked a similar question in mircosoft.public.word.newusers so I will let you know if I do any good. Thanks. I expect that it will revert to classic view while using office 2000 Other then that it will most likely work. |

My guess is that for those of us still using Office 2000 upgrades are not that important! |

Try it and see I tried it, and the fact that Outlook Xpress was part of Office 2000, and was inadvertently installed, threw Win 7 into a tizzy, so I had to clean up that mess. I guess that if you are going to try it, exclude OE from the process. |

Office 2000 includes "Outlook" not Outlook Express when I did my test install I left that part of it out thanks for the warning though |

My guess is that for those of us still using Office 2000 upgrades are not that important! I just got Windows 7 64bit and decided to upgrade from Office 2000 to office 2003. Really no difference. Then again, I can only speak about Word, which is what I use in Office. -Al- |

Are they compatible? Yes. I run Office 2000 Pro and Office 2010. They both work fine. Mostly I use the Office 2000 stuff but I'm using the 2010 stuff to get used to the menus, etc. -- Michael Cecil http://home.roadrunner.com/~macecil/ http://home.roadrunner.com/~safehex/ http://home.roadrunner.com/~macecil/hackingw7/ |
