desktop is ready and the harddrive isn't still grinding and grinding
awsy.. In Windows 7 after the desktop is up, the little blue circle is
still spinning over my network icon. The hard drive is still chattering
away. I wait, I wait, the blue circle turns into a yellow triangle. I
wait, I wait, then it connects. Eventually after a while the harddrive
activity light finally calms down. What kind of Microsoft **** is that?

You obviously don't have the RTM of W 7 installed do you?
