The "Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool" from the MicrosoftStore
comes damn close to doing the job. But it missed a detail.

You can't use UEFI boot off the stick, unless it's FAT32.

The above tool formats the stick *NTFS* for me.

What kind of useless, piece of crap, writer does not format
the stupid drive to the proper format?!

This must be why everyone tells me to use Rufus.

Thank you for the tips!

I don't have UEFI so I don't know if any of these might work, They
are the ones I have used.

Rufus.
Only works in my XP VM, but it does work.

Linux Live USB creator.
only work on Linux ISO and is superfluous as "dd" work perfectly
on Live ISOs.Â* And it is buggy as all hell.

Universal USB installer.
Haven't seen that one.Â* Do you have a link?

Unetbootin.
Same issue as Live USB Creator and Fedora's Media Creator

Rene

So far Rufus is the only one that will format and everything
correctly for GPT and EUFI.

Thank you!

I would avoid GPT on a Windows system, except NVMe drives
won't boot without it on the Supermicro X11SAE-M

Here you go

Rats!Â*Â* No EUFI support.Â* Thank you anyway!

Have you tried Unetbootin for linux OS.

Yes. It is terrible at Windows ISOs. M$ is in
the stone ages with their ISOs. They need to get
their act together and support dd.

win32 disk imager is a good one to use.

i was told that is you try to format a usb stick in ntfs format, it will
brick the usb drive. You can always try it and tell us the results.

To install an NVMe drive, you need to support GPT and EUFI. The
stick has to be formatted in Fat32 also. I tried an NTFS
by accident and it would only support standard bios
