Default XP is slow accessing My Computer after bootup

I am running a 2.8 Mhz P4 on a MSI 875P Neo Mobo with 512
Megs of Hyper X Kingston ram. I also have a 120 Gig WD 8
Meg Cache 7500 RPM Serial HD. My question is after
loading into Windows I go to my computer I get the
flashlight icon to searching for available drives and it
takes a good 20-30 seconds! What is going on? I have a
spare P2 350 Mhz running XP that is faster. Please Help!
