OT, Amazon Fire Stick 4K
Don't know where to ask this but I'll try here Even if OT.
Why is my Fire Stick 4k Wi-Fi download speed faster than my Ethernet wired adapter? The Wi-Fi is using the 5 GHz radio band, the Ethernet is fed from the router to an Amazon Ethernet adapter then to the Fire Stick. Wi_fi gives me 165 GHz the Ethernet gives me 82 GHz. Mostly just curious. Rene |

If so that might explain it, Needless to say I am staying on Wi-Fi. Rene' |

Seems strange to do that when giving 250Mbit/sec on the radio side. Some rental modems in the States are designed that way, I guess to annoy the customer as much as possible. Some of this equipment with 100BT on it, isn't really all that old. Lucky for me, my WAN isn't fast enough to hit such limits, so I'll never have this problem :-/ Paul |

Rene' Read that both the Fire TV & Roku use 10/100 chips for ethernet; infact, lots of stuff still do the 10/100 instead of 10/100/1ghz. I think my 4K tv is also at the 10/100. Most ethernet adapters for the fire tv is also using 10/100 chipsets. I still do an 'overkill' with 1ghz switches. |
