"Microsoft has for the first time raised the minimum storage requirement
for Windows 10, in version 1903, to 32 GB for both 32-bit and 64-bit PCs."

In my experience, the storage requirement for Winders rises 5 to 10 GB
each year as it scatters files into every nook and cranny of the file
system.

That quote is no longer at that link.

Besides, I think of 32GB like I used to think of 32MB, i.e.: as nothing.
Storage is cheap.

Visit some e-tailers. Can you even find *new* HDDs under 40GB?

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...36&order=PRICE

The cheapest was an HP HDD 40GB at $21, but you can get 320GB and 500GB
drives for that price.

My netbook came with Windows on a 4GB SSD, but then it was Windows XP
which IIRC fits in less space.

At my former employer, I tested and used netbooks with tiny SSDs like that.

Yes. But there are many little machines that come with 32 GB "disks".
Not rotating rust, but eMMC.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MultiMediaCard#eMMC

«The eMMC (embedded MMC[7]) architecture puts the MMC components (flash
memory plus controller) into a small ball grid array (BGA) IC package
for use in circuit boards as an embedded non-volatile memory system.
eMMC exists in 100, 153, 169 ball packages and is based on an 8-bit
parallel interface.[8] This is noticeably different from other versions
of MMC as this is not a user-removable card, but rather a permanent
attachment to the circuit board. In the event of an issue stemming from
either the memory or its controller, the PCB (printed circuit board)
would need to be replaced or repaired.»

For example, Lenovo Yoga 330-11IGM Intel Celeron N4000/2GB/32GB/11.6" at
229€

Yep, like my work client's Intel NUC PCs that I had to work on to disk
clone to a bigger SSD recently.
