"minor" installation problem
I was planning a "clean install" of WinXP Pro on my
computer.I deleted all the former partitions and proceeded to create one 12 gb one on which I planned to install XP. But after installing XP and rebooting my system it gave me this message "Couldn't open drive multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0) partition(1)" Now of course I thought hmmm how odd so i proceeded to once again boot my computer delete the partitions and reinstall windows. Same problem. Must have done this about 3 times. Now I know the CD works since I've used it on a different computer before this and it worked fine.... anybody run into this problem before? could be something with the hard drive or...? |

Are you booting from the XP CD? If not, do so. The XP CD has all the tools
to delete existing partitions, make new partitions, format and then install XP. -- Steve C. Ray Replace "mail" with "36db" "Chris" wrote in message ... Chris, has this hard drive been used before? If so, did you have some sort
