Default ANSI.Sys

Hi ...

New to Windows XP. I 'spose I'm the only person in the world that longs for
the good ol' days of Windows 98.

Anyway, there's a program in C:\Windows\System32 directory called ANSI.Sys.
I have a an old game that requires ANSI.Sys. Is there any way to use it?? In
the old days, we could type `Device=ANSI.Sys' in `ConFig.Sys' file. Well,
come to think of it, we can still type that. It just doesn't work any more.
Windows XP (apparently) ignores `AutoExec.Bat' and `Config.Sys.' There must
be a way to load ANSI.Sys, because it's still included in Windows XP.

On a related note, can I change the PATH in Windows XP?? I mean permanently.

Appreciate any help.

Sam
