"Unknown" wrote in message ... See above post.. See "WHAT "above post"? You are obviously not aware that the forum you are posting in is leaching off the Microsoft News Servers. That's not your fault. The owners of this forum should make that clear. You would do better to use a news reader and subscribe to these groups direct as most of the other users here do. Yes, No Post Above. That said, PLEASE, someone advise why IE-8 runs
so slowly - opening seems to "take forever". Other Office 2007 products work perfectly. The cynical side might add: slowness "seemed" to occur just about the time BING came out. Current opening page is Google. MS, MVRs, pls forgive! Seriously, what tool might get IE-7 to not chug, but run? Appreciative and Thank You! People *have* given explanations. Either you don't see them or you are
ignoring them. I will try once more. In another post, you asked: What is a sound way to find out why IE8 is slow(er)? I answered: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/run-in...o-add-ons-mode That is, you should run IE8 in No Add-Ons mode to determine if the slowness goes away or not. If it does, then one of your addons is to blame, and it is just a simple matter of process of elimination to determine which one it is. I also explained that: "Some users have complained that Spybot Search & Destroy interferes with IE8's built-in filtering." You never stated if you run this program or not. If you do, check to see if MS09-019/KB969897 is installed. If not, install it. If still no joy, I would uninstall Spybot since it's not as good as it once was. Then again, you can always uninstall IE8 and see how IE7 works. If IE7 is also slow, at least you know the issue isn't IE8. wrote: Yes, No Post Above. Assuming first that you have Windows XP with Service Pack 3 and that Internet Explorer 8 was installed *after* Service Pack 3 was installed - you can follow these instructions: How do I uninstall or remove Internet Explorer 8? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957700 However - assuming still that you have Windows XP with Service Pack 3 but that Internet Explorer 8 was installed *before* Service Pack 3 was installed - you need to first uninstall Service Pack 3 from the control panel (add or remove programs with show updates checked) and then follow the above instructions. -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |
