Yes, I have a couple. Is there any way to remove the Calendar from the Win7
desktop and how do I put (the program) 'Run' in the Programs list?

What calendar?

What happened to the Run command?

The Run command no longer appears on the Start menu in this version of
Windows. The search box that appears on the Start menu provides much of
the same functionality as the Run command. However, the Run command is
still available if you prefer to use it. You can even add it to the Start
menu for easier access.

To add the Run command to the Start menu
Click to open Taskbar and Start Menu Properties.

Click the Start Menu tab, and then click Customize.

In the list of Start menu options, select the Run command check box, and
then click OK. The Run command will be displayed on the right side of the
Start menu.

Tip:
You can also access the Run command by pressing the Windows logo key + R.

Bruce. I don't see any start menu properties after I click on Start Tab and
Properties but then I have Win7 Home Premium. Maybe that's the problem.

I think most of the rest of us don't have that on our desktops, so the
advice to right click on it is probably the way to go.

I would say the problem is that you're not clicking correctly. Try
right clicking on an open area of the Taskbar, then select Properties,
and then click the Star menu tab. Finally, click on Customize and it's
in there, partway down.

I have one there on mine but it is a gadget I put there. It is not there by
default. Did you try right clicking it?

You can also put your mouse pointer on the Start Orb and right click and
choose properties. This will open the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties
Window on the Start Menu tab. THen all you'd have to do is click on
customize.

Right click on the "Start" globe.

Click on "properties"

When the box opens, click on the "start menu" tab.

Click on the "customize" button.

Go down the list till you see the "run" command.

Check it.

Click "OK".

Done.

Right clicking on the Taskbar and right clicking on the Start button take
you to the same place. It's not a big deal which you click on.

As in "Teach a man to fish...".

Nice post, gently phrased.
