WiFi (OFF)
When I click the wireless icon in the notification, I see "Wi-Fi (Off)".
Under Wireless in PC Settings, Wireless Devices, I see Wi-Fi (Off) again but the ON/OFF button is grayed out. Acer Aspire 5745. Also, Fn-F3 -- the combo that is supposed to toggle WiFi -- does nothing. Can I get back WiFi (On) somehow? Thnks. |

However, if I click on the icon for my home WLAN, I can indeed connect. Wi-Fi (Off) does not change. |

That's the program that enables the Fn key combo. Does the 5745 have a manual slide switch for Wireless? -- SC Tom |

You can always search on-line for a newer driver for whichever wireless adapter you have. My Acer V3-731 has an Atheros AR5BWB222 adapter, and I found one online that worked when the Acer Win7 and Win8 drivers gave me fits. |

I had downloaded Win 8 drivers from Qualcomm and tried to install them but Windows said that I already had the latest drivers (Win 7 drivers from Acer!). |

See, it knew what it was doing after all :-) (yeah .. . . right) It wasn't off because the ethernet cable is plugged in, was it? Unlike when I had Win7 on my laptop, mine's an either/or, but not both. -- SC Tom |

No. The Enet cable is about 40 feet too short. ;-) |
