Default Downloading & Installing XP updates

I've been trying to download XP updates. The updates seem
to download but will not install. It's like the download
process "freezes up". Can anyone help?

Are you by any chance running NAV 2004?
If you are, try un-installing it!
Then Try Windows Update again!
