XP User Login settings disappeared along with all data
One of the users on my XP Media Edition (SP3) has basically disappeared. All
the data, folders etc are not shown anywhere. These are usually available from other logins. I reset the desktop picture and the next login it was back to the Dell default. Is there any way to recover the data and get things reset? I have Norton Utilities which will reset to a prior system profile but it says it won't recover any data. |

First - are you saying that under C:\Documents and Settings\ -- the username folder does not exist for that user? Second - look into a freeware utility called "Recuva". Also one that costs (but is well worth it IMO): UnDelete. -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |

That user's account is corrupt, the user is logging on to a temporary
account that gets deleted and recreated at each logon. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151 -- ------ "767_driver" wrote in message ...
