Hi All,

Is M$ skipping Son-of-Frankenstein (Windows 9) and going
directly to Grandson-of-Frankenstein (Windows 10)?

Was this just a typo?

Yes, they are skipping "9", probably because they consider the number
to be unlucky. In actuality what is unlucky is their choice of
leadership. The current dweeb isn't much better than the previous
lunatic.

Web based forums are like subscribing to 10 different newspapers
and having to visit 10 different news stands to pickup each one.
Email list-server groups and USENET are like having all of those
newspapers delivered to your door every morning.

Nope. Not a typo. Marketing. To sell you another bottle of snake oil
to make up for all those bottles that didn't sell.

The PR hype for 10 reads very much like the Vista release of years ago.
New name to reflect a totally new "from the ground up" OS. Right.
Microsoft has never done anything from the "ground up." It costs too
much. Takes too long. Easier, quicker to cut and paste. Microsoft is
a copycat, not an innovator. (And at worse, thieves.) They see what's
selling, and jump on the band wagon, but are always a couple years late
and a dollar short.

Since 8 was the New Vista, hopefully, 10 will be the new 7, but I doubt
it.

Actually, I missed that thread. Felt a little silly
when a post showed up.

I have a bad habit of doing a mass erase before I
do a new post so I can tell who is responding to my
thread. Occasionally, it back fires
