Default Resizing partition

Thanks for reply. Everything appears normal. I am
wondering if the fact the OS was pre installed, does the
following give an indication to the problem?
http://www.microsoft.com/hwdev/tech/storage/ntfs-
preinstall.asp

???????

Make sure that your hard disk is set "Auto Detect" or

something like that in
your bios/cmos, especially "Mode". I have had this

problem with Partion
Magic, if the disk is set as "User" or you define your

own "Mode"

For some reason I cannot resize or add apatition to my
drive, either using Partition Magic 8 or MS disc

Manager.
Partition Magic allows me to carry out the changes but
after applying changes, fails on reboot with Error 983

Too
many errors! Anyone any ideas.

Win XP, Compaq Presario laptop, logged on as

administrator
as standard.
