Speed up slow shutdown?
Hi Baz,
Suggestion: This edit automatically ends tasks and timeouts that prevent programs from shutting down and clears the Paging File on Exit. Auto End Tasks to Enable a Proper Shutdown (Line 76) http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm -- All the Best, Kelly MS-MVP Win98/XP-Shell/User [AE-Windows® XP] Troubleshooting Windows XP http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm "Baz" wrote in message ... Using Windows XP Pro, my computer takes nearly a minute to shutdown. I've tracked it down to a combination of processes used by my Brother printer and Sygate firewall. If I use Task manager to shut down two running processes used by my Brother printer and exit the Sygate firewall via the taskbar the computer shuts down in about 10 seconds. Is there a way to automate or simplify the shutdown of running processes and the Sygate firewall? Thanks in advance for any info. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
