Default XP Home networking - host has access to guest, but not viceversa

I have set up a home network between 2 computers (using a cossed cable ie no
router). One has broadband. I have set the computer with broadband as the
host and the other as guest following the XP net setup wizard. I have shared
some folders on both the host and guest computer (by simple file sharing on
xp)
For an unkown reason the host can access all the guest's shared files, but
the guest can't access any of the host's shared files. Ive run through the XP
troubleshooting guide... Ive successfully pinged each computer and there
seems to be no hardware problems. Ive disabled all the service pack 2
firewalls on the lan (and on the broadband), but it is still preventing the
other from accessing the shared files.

Anyone have any idea whats going on?

Thanks,

Campbell

Are both PCs running XP Home?

What is the error message you get (word for word) and when do you get it?
