Default Update anomaly

I have several pcs all running various versions of Windows 7.
Two of them are almost identical in what they are except different video
card and slightly faster cpu in one (3.0 - 2.8 dualcore Intels).

For several days now one of the pcs has been getting a Windows Update
that consists of one relatively small file usually well under 1Gb. These
install successfully without requiring any reboot. The other pc has No
Update Available".

Makes one wonder what the hell is going on?

Are they both configured to "never update" until you decide to check?
