Default Modern Videos on XP?

A lot of new youtube videos won't play on XP with
Firefox. Is there something I ought to be
downloading to see the videos?

(Youtube seems to convert some of them to some
format I can play after a couple of days of
aging, but I gather there's a new format I don't
have.)

Try installing ffdshow.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-tryout/

Lastest build can be found below. (long text warning)

People have started using some other operating system as XP is no longer
supported by anybody. Either you buy a new machine with Windows 10 or
start using Linux Junk that will still run on your dinosaur. You must
have noticed that people who were using XP have all but died and you
hardly see any posts in this particular newsgroup!!.

People keep saying that it it is still working why change. You have
just proved that it isn't working so it is time to change. So move on
to something new.
