SP2 and Cisco VPN client

With the no exceptions allowed in the Windows firewall, I can connect using
the Cisco vpn client using the udp transport. I cannot seem to put together
a combination that will allow me to connect via TCP from the same client. I
have tried allowing exceptions for TCP port 10000, which works with the
firewall off. I have tried allowing an exception for the VPN Client.
Neither of these works.

I haven't seen all the thread here, so I'm not sure what the actual problem
is. I'll guess that the Cisco VPN client stopped working after you upgraded
to SP 2.

This is a common problem with many third-party VPN clients; they often hook
into the stack using undocumented or deprecated calls. If the service pack
removes those DLL interfaces, the VPN client stops functioning. Check with
Cisco to see if they've updated their client software.
