Default Uninstalling with xp cd/using sp2

I am trying to reinstall windows xp using the cd I have, but when i tried to
it said it was impossible because it was outdated, 2002. When I looked at the
disk it was someyear-2001. I recently online installed service pack 2. Is
this why it can't install?
