display folder properties xppro sp2

ever since sp2 installation most folders on c drive will not do anything when right click and select properties. folders on other drives/partitions are fine. can't find any security setting that affects this. any ideas? everything else with sp2 works fine for me. I've got the same issue except none of my folders will display the
properties window. Files, icons, devices all work ok. In addition to this, selecting File Sharing from the right click on a folder has also quite working. Check to see if you have Windows's Internet Information Services (IIS)
running. I shut down every Service that was not mark ESSENTIAL. I was then able to use the right click properties and sharing. I then put them back in 8 at a time. As soon as I re-enabled IIS Admin I lost the right click Properties and File Sharing abilities. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the IIS Service from the Windows CD and everything is working correctly. If you don't need the IIS (normally only if you're programming or creating web pages) you can simply uninstall it. Go to the Control Panel - Add/Remove Software. Click on the Add/Remove Window Components. Clear the check box net to Internet Information Services (IIS). Reboot for the heck of it. Let me know if this works for you.
